After receiving an Honours Bachelor of Social Work Degree with a minor in Indigenous Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, Victoria completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Windsor.
Victoria has knowledge and experience working with various life experiences such as anxiety and depression, trauma, youth and adult mental health, substance use and addiction, and intellectual delays.
Victoria’s career has focused on working with children, emerging adults, and their families. Victoria’s work history and current work include Hamilton Health Sciences in the medical unit(s) supporting patients and their families at bedside, and Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre where she provides mental health counselling and ongoing support to youth and their families. Victoria also has experience supporting children with developmental disabilities and their families.
Victoria’s style of practice focuses on inclusion, respect and fairness, while working collaboratively with the client and their family to support their goals. She has a passion for working with children, emerging adults, and their families. Victoria has an eclectic clinical style that includes working from a strengths-based, anti-oppressive lens while utilizing CBT and other evidence-informed interventions.
Continued Professional Development
Victoria is committed to continuous learning and understands the importance of remaining up to date with her clinical skill set. She has completed training focusing on childhood development, trauma, youth suicide risk, mindfulness, addiction, and anti-oppressive practice. In addition, Victoria continues to work toward completing a CBT specialization for working with youth, young adults, and their families.
