Annelise is a Registered Nurse, certified in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing through the Canadian Nurses Association, who believes in cultivating an accepting, encouraging, collaborative, and safe therapeutic environment with her clients.
Annelise has a special interest in working with Neurodivergent clients and uses a Neurodiversity-Affirming and Trauma-Informed approach to therapy. With ADHD herself, Annelise can understand how challenging it can be to live in a world not built for you.
Annelise can help in the following areas: low or fluctuating mood; anxiety; panic; general stress; organization, motivation, and prioritization; neurodivergent burnout; perfectionism; exploration of identity and values; emotion regulation; interpersonal stress and/or conflict; obsessive compulsive concerns; and complex trauma.
Annelise uses a combination of the following types of therapies to support her clients: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), DBT skills, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). Annelise completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Masters of Science in Psychotherapy at McMaster University, with additional training through McMaster’s Clinical Behavioral Sciences program and through the Internal Family Systems Counselling Association.
When Annelise is not working, you can find her playing with her two dogs Ducky and Woodrow, painting, collecting rocks, and hiking.
