Jenna Rensink

MSW | RSW
(SHE/HER)

Jenna strives to create a therapeutic environment where individuals feel safe to exist as their authentic self. She approaches therapy with an empathetic, integrative approach to provide empowerment and encourage ownership of one's story. She has an interest in helping individuals find their reasons for living and take the next best step towards aligning with their values. Jenna believes that the individual is the expert on themselves and strives to centre their voice to guide them towards a better understanding of their strengths. She values the importance of the present moment and meaning making. Jenna works from an anti-oppressive, social justice, trauma-informed lens and as a white settler, she is committed to ongoing learning in these areas.

Jenna’s experience has largely been working with youth and young adults in outpatient and community settings. Jenna’s focus has been supporting individuals through emotional dysregulation, interpersonal conflict, anxiety, grief, coping with psychosocial stressors, low mood, and suicidality.

Jenna completed her Master of Social Work degree at Western University. She spent much of her early career working in Nashville, TN in a community mental health setting. Jenna currently works at the Youth Wellness Centre, an outpatient program of St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton providing therapy to youth and emerging adults.
